Nouns in Sentences

 

 

- Just like in the English language, nouns exist in the Arabic language. A noun is usually called "أسم" (Ism) in Arabic.

- In Arabic, there are two types of sentences:

1) Noun Sentences

2) Verb Sentences (explained in next lesson).

 

Noun Sentences:

- Noun sentences are sentences that start with a noun.

 

A noun sentence consists of:

1) A noun

2) A predicate (tells us something about the subject/noun).

 

For example:

  • Mohammed (محمد): Noun

  • Hard-working (مجتهد): Predicate

The car is old.

.السيارة قديمة (Al-sayyara qadeemah)

  • Car (السيارة): Noun

  • Old (قديمة): Predicate
